Grade 9 student Jules describes his recent trip to Dublin for a Model United Nations conference, including two awards for ISP students.
Model United Nations conferences
ISP takes part in various Model United Nations (MUN) conferences in France and abroad every year. Students simulate the work done by the United Nations and aim to be a model of international mindedness and compromise.
Participating in MUN conferences offers students an opportunity to develop their reading, researching and presenting skills in English, while introducing them to the world of diplomacy and negotiation.
There are MUN conferences happening all over the world. In the 2016–17 academic year, we took students to the following conferences:
- Paris Model United Nations
- The Hague International Model United Nations
- Paris Junior Model United Nations
- St Andrew's International Model United Nations
"Speaking with our allies and, above all, having fun while doing it..." Zinzan describes how Grade 11 students were transformed into delegates of Mauritania for The Hague International Model United Nations conference in February.
