Safeguarding

We proactively identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities to minimize the likelihood of harm, abuse, or neglect. We adhere to safer recruitment practices, for example 10 year police checks from all countries of residence is required for all staff. This also includes implementing preventive measures such as risk assessments, lockdown and fire drills, safety protocols, and educational programs such as Jigsaw. 

We have robust systems in place to safeguard our students from all forms of harm, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, neglect, bullying, discrimination, and online risks. We prioritize the protection of our students and take immediate action to address any concerns or disclosures recorded on our CPOMS platform.

We provide a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel valued, respected, and listened to. We offer appropriate support through our school counsellor and Wellbeing Team with interventions for students who may be experiencing difficulties or facing challenges that could impact their well-being or learning.

We actively foster partnerships and collaboration with parents, carers, staff, students, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding. We believe that safeguarding is a shared responsibility and that effective communication and cooperation are key to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.

We deliver regular training for all our staff (bus drivers, ECA staff, parents, mother tongue tutors, Building Maintenance, external contributors,  Administration staff).   We also use Educare an online training service to enhance their knowledge and skills in recognizing and responding to safeguarding concerns. We also promote awareness among students about safeguarding issues, empowering them to take an active role in promoting a safe and supportive environment.
