Message from the Head of School
Dear ISP Families,
It has been said that “wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow”—a sentiment often attributed to Indian novelist Anita Desai. As we begin a new school year at the International School of Paris, this reflection captures something essential about the journey ahead. Whether you are arriving in Paris for the first time or returning to ISP after the summer, each new beginning brings opportunities to grow, connect, and discover. I warmly welcome you into a community dedicated to Educating for Complexity—a mission that fosters curiosity, empathy, and understanding in an increasingly interconnected world.
With over 700 students representing more than 70 nationalities, ISP is a vibrant international school rooted in shared values and rich diversity. For families who are new to Paris, the transition may feel both exciting and unfamiliar—but our team, students, and parents are ready to support you with warmth, care, and a strong sense of belonging.
At ISP, we place students at the centre of their learning journey. Across all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, our approach encourages experiential learning, inquiry, critical thinking, and student voice. Whether through classroom learning, extended curriculum activities, or service projects, we aim to equip students with the skills and confidence to navigate complexity and make a positive impact. We are also proud to foster strong partnerships between students, teachers, and families—knowing that community is essential to learning.
As we begin this new academic year together, I look forward to getting to know your family and supporting your children as they learn, grow, and thrive. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any member of our staff if we can help or answer any questions along the way.
Welcome (back) to ISP—and to Paris. We’re so glad you’re here.
Warm regards,
Antoine Delaitre, Head of School
