Announcing ISP's New Head of School, Summer 2024!
Antoine Delaitre
Incoming Head of School, Summer 2024
Remarks from incoming Head of School
The ISP Board of Trustees, leadership team and school community are delighted to announce that the next Head of School starting July 2024 will be Antoine Delaitre. Antoine will succeed David Henry, who will retire from ISP after nearly thirty years as an international school educator and leader.
Antoine comes to ISP with twenty-seven years of experience in international education, during which he occupied various leadership roles at top IB schools in the United States: the French American International School in San Francisco, and more recently at the United Nations International School (UNIS) in New York City, where he has successfully led the high school through complex transformations for the past nine years.
Antoine is fluent in three languages (French, English, Spanish) and has studied three more (Japanese, Portuguese, Latin), reflecting a deep commitment to global education and cultural understanding. Born in France, he has spent half his life in other countries: he grew up in Algeria and Greece, and completed his secondary and university education in France, including at the University of Paris where he obtained a Master’s Degree, the Agrégation, and a Master of Advanced Studies (Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies) in history. He was also stationed in Libreville (Gabon) as part of his one-year military service in Equatorial Africa, before embarking on his career in international education in California. He was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques by the French Ministry of Education in 2015, in recognition for his contributions to bilingual education.
In ISP’s search to find the most exceptional leader to guide our school and community, we engaged in an international recruitment process that yielded incredible talent from across the globe. Guided by ISP’s vision, mission and guiding statements, and our strategic plan, the Committee sought a Head of School who could lead ISP’s strategic development; attract, develop and retain the highest quality faculty and staff; effectively communicate ISP’s story to our community and the broader world; further strengthen our diverse community; ensure student and community-wide wellbeing; and elevate student achievement and development at ISP. Antoine Delaitre embodies all of these qualities and more, bringing a wealth of experience, professionalism and a profound commitment to excellence.
As we embark on this exciting new chapter in our school’s journey, we embrace this opportunity to extend both a warm welcome to Antoine and a heartfelt thank you to David for his leadership at ISP. We also humbly thank everyone in our community, as well as Deb Welch at Carney Sandoe and Associates, for your participation and guidance throughout the search process.

Message from the Head of School
As your new Head of School, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all the new and returning families! With a student body of approximately 750 students representing over 70 nationalities, and for some of you, a new move to Paris, this transition may feel both exciting and daunting. At ISP, we are committed to making this transition as smooth and positive as possible for you and your children. The true warmth of our school, an atmosphere of friendship combined with endeavour, is embodied by our students, parents, and staff, and our dedicated team and the entire ISP community are here to support you every step of the way!
I am a firm believer in student-centred education, as reflected in ISP's Mission, Vision, and Guiding Statements. At ISP, we foster a collaborative partnership between students, teachers, and parents, encouraging student inquiry and voice as they strive to reach their full potential. I look forward to partnering with you to support your children's growth and development, which are essential for success in today’s complex world. We understand that young people face significant challenges that require thoughtful and creative responses. The critical thinking and research skills cultivated in all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, along with a wide range of Extended Curriculum Activities (ECAs) and service as action opportunities, equip our students to engage with the world effectively. Your children will have the opportunity to thrive in an inclusive environment where they will learn to navigate complex issues and make a positive impact globally.
As we embark on this new academic year, I look forward to meeting each of you and working together to ensure that ISP continues to be a place where every student can excel and every family feels at home. Please feel free to reach out to me or any member of our staff at any time with any questions or concerns you may have.
We are excited to have you as part of our community, and look forward to an inspiring and successful year ahead.
Warm regards,
Antoine Delaitre, Head of School
