ISP Strategic Action Plan

Following a lengthy process beginning with a Strategic Planning event in October 2021 and numerous feedback sessions with various members of the school community, areas of strategic focus and objectives for each area were outlined. The Strategic Plan was approved by the Board on March 14, 2022.

Areas of strategic focus (ASFs)

The Strategic Plan includes three areas of strategic focus (ASFs), which you will find further detailed below.  These ASFs combine with our operational, leadership and Board goals, converging on Achieving Through Community.

Dynamic and evolving curriculum

The school will continue building and implementing a dynamic curriculum that anticipates and responds to the diverse needs of our learners in an evolving world.

NEAR-TERM OBJECTIVES (1 - 2 years)
  • Leverage our pandemic experiences to transform teaching and learning in the contexts of on-campus, hybrid and distance learning, while optimising our physical and digital environments.
  • Develop robust, data-driven practices which support the students' learning experience.
MID-TERM OBJECTIVES (2 - 4 years)
  • Transform student assessment to incorporate broader approaches to learning that allow students to have a continuous and personalised understanding of their needs and achievements.
  • Enhance student-driven, transdisciplinary and conceptual learning through the units of study so that critical thinking, understanding and transfer are optimised in student learning and engagement.
LONG-TERM OBJECTIVE (4 - 6 years)
  • Design a highly cohesive, vertically and horizontally-aligned curriculum that effectively prepares students to handle the academic/cognitive demands and skills necessary for success beyond ISP.

Elevating student voice

The school will develop an environment where students know their voices are heard, explore their identity, pursue their own interests and drive their own learning journey.

NEAR-TERM OBJECTIVES (1 - 2 years)
  • Enhance the Extended Curriculuar Activities programme with more student-initiated and student-led activities which include social and community projects and aspects of vertical student integration.
  • Expand and promote more creative Service Learning opportunities for students ensuring service is personalised and meaningful.
MID-TERM OBJECTIVES (2 - 4 years)
  • Systematise opportunities for students to engage with high level learning that is relevant and supports sustainability, and is fueled by the discovery of, and engagement with, their passions.
  • Establish innovative structures to ensure ISP is moving from listening to our students to learning from our students, instilling in them the understanding, confidence, and ability to influence and engage in leading the learning of self and others.
  • Continue to build upon our inclusive environment in which all members of our diverse community feel valued and have a sense of belonging.
LONG-TERM OBJECTIVE (4 - 6 years)
  • Foster a culture of self-awareness, personal exploration, and celebration.

Personal and organizational growth

The school will ensure that every member of the community is engaged with and supported in their own ongoing learning journey and personal development, and actively contributes to the growth of others.

NEAR-TERM OBJECTIVES (1 - 2 years)
  • Define what it means to be well, and establish systems to ensure that student and staff wellbeing are considered in all areas of school life.
  • Create a compelling environment that will attract, develop and retain high quality educators and professionals.
MID-TERM OBJECTIVES (2 - 4 years)
  • Make connections with other organisations to expand opportunities for unique learning experiences.
  • Integrate deeper understandings of diversity to better prepare our students for life in an interconnected world.
  • Develop a programme of personalised coaching and mentoring for students and staff.
LONG-TERM OBJECTIVE (4 - 6 years)
  • Foster relationships and structures that ensure each member of the community is supported and accompanied in the development of their learning and practice.
