How does the Middle Years Programme at ISP address our Guiding Statements and fulfil our High Quality Learning Definition?

Broad Range of Subject Groups

Flexibility to specialise and extend learning within 8 subject groups.

IB eAssessments

At ISP, we offer the full IB eAssessments in Grade 10.

Conceptual Learning in a Real World Context

We teach big ideas (concepts) to foster interdisciplinary connections.

8 groups: Arts, Design, Humanities, Language Acquisition, Language & Literature, Mathematics, Physical & Health Education, Sciences. Flexibility to specialise and extend learning within these groups.

IB eAssessments give our students the opportunity to strive for excellence and consolidate their learning in a number of ways.

As well as learning subject content, each of our units is based in a real-world context to allow students to understand the ‘why’ and see the value in what they are learning.

ATL Skills

We foster independent learners by teaching and assessing Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills.

Service as Action

Students are involved in Service as Action experiences and projects.

Transition Between Programmes

The MYP supports students transitioning from PYP to DP.

Grouped into 5 categories of Communication, Self-management, Research, Social and Thinking skills; these skills help students learn how to learn, reflect and transfer their learning to new and complex issues.

Through the curriculum and outside of the classroom students will learn about and be involved in Service as Action experiences and projects. The aim of which is to develop young people that are caring, responsible members of their school, local and global communities.

As a full IB continuum school, the MYP is the bridge that supports our students through their transition from the PYP and gives them the best possible preparation for the DP. We implement a range of activities and events for students and families through these important transitional moments.
