Diploma (Grades 11 - 12)
What Is the Diploma Programme (DP) at ISP?
At the International School of Paris our students aged 16-19 learn through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) was established in 1968 to provide an internationally recognised qualification for students studying outside of their home country. Present in almost 5,000 schools and 140 countries, the IB DP has a world-wide reputation for excellence in preparing students for university study.
International research shows there are many benefits to choosing the DP over other curricula for the 16-19 age group. For example:
- DP students are better able than their peers to cope with demanding workloads, manage their time and meet the expectations placed on them.
- Analysis of DP students in Canada, the UK and the USA found that the DP’s Extended Essay requirement improves students’ approach to learning in higher education.
- The DP has been shown to foster academic persistence, resulting in decreased university drop out rates.
Our students can...
- demonstrate mastery in traditional academic subjects;
- make sound choices about their futures and state how these choices will help them become leaders and global citizens;
- earn bilingual diplomas at a higher rate than their peers in other IB DP schools;
- reflect thoughtfully on their work in the areas of creativity, activity and service.
What are the core elements of the Diploma Programme?
