The movement of colors (February 2020)
Video
54 MB
The movement of colors is two videos. The first is two circles, turning and going in and out, creating an illusion effect. The second video is different tones of blue, in circular shapes going towards you. I had two sources of inspiration. Dada films by Hans Richter, because of the effect that video has, the second one, my previous work, The illusion of oranges and The illusion of blues, as you can see the shapes and colours are very similar. The aim was to transfer a physical piece into virtual.
Levels of Illusion (March 2019)
Acrylic sheet and pictures
20cmx20cm
This piece was inspired by Julio le Parc’s work, as he's one of the artists that I studied who works with the theme of illusion. I decided to use the typical circle of illusion as the base, I wanted to have different levels so I created a sort of pyramid but with circles, it goes from small to big. Between those circles I added pictures that I edited from trips that I have done with my family, I tried to make them look as if they were not real.
Space Dome (June 2019)
Cardboard and aluminium foil
22x21x11cm
Space dome was inspired by three different artists, Tom Sachs, Talin and Buckminster Fuller. The idea of the dome came from Buckminster Fuller as he worked a lot with domes and he's famous for his spaceship Earth, the use of aluminium foil came from Tom Sachs exhibition ‘space moon’, I intended to give the feeling of a machine used in space and in the inside I kept the illusion theme and added a spiral mixed with stars.
The interface of a Cube (November 2018)
Ceramic, oxides and acrylic
25cmx25cm
This piece was inspired by a drawing theme as I wanted to work with sharp lines and simple shapes but also the use of dark colours, as you can see the colour of the sculpture it's a very dark grey with some tones of red, this red is intended to represent the rusted metal of the Street sign. The reason why I cut one of the corners was to create shadows when the light hits my sculpture.
The Illusion of Oranges (November 2019)
Wood and acrylic paint
34x30x10cm
The Illusion of Oranges is a wooden piece, painted with different tones of oranges, using acrylic paint. In this piece, you can find 8 different tones of orange. It starts on the top with a very light orange and it finishes with an almost brown/purple orange. The different tones of oranges are used to create the effect of going into the piece. I was inspired by Josef Albers and his use of colour.
