Welcome to the new Middle School!

The new middle school campus is a group of three buildings, situated between rue Cortambert and rue Vital in the 16th arrondissement.

The buildings and the outdoor courtyard that links them add 3000m2 to the International School of Paris, which is a 36% increase to the size of the school. The 900m2 gated courtyard is an excellent recreation area for middle school students.

The front building on rue Cortambert, formally a private mansion, was constructed by architect Léon Salvan in 1890. The neo-gothic, ornamental design was common at the end of the 19th century, and similar architecture can be found throughout the 16th arrondissement, even near the primary school on rue du Ranelagh.

Construction to transform the buildings into a school started in February 2017, and includes the creation of 12 classrooms, 3 science labs, 2 makerspaces, an art room, a music room, a café and a large collaborative working space for students, teachers and the school community.

The middle school opened in September 2018 to welcome students from grade 6 through grade 9. However, the campus is flexible and learners of all ages are welcome.
