Strengthening Safeguarding: Paris Schools Unite in New Alliance

After many years of planning, ISP's Wellbeing team held their first face-to-face meeting for the Paris Safeguarding Alliance (PSA) last week. This group, which the team has established and is leading, consists of schools in the Paris region dedicated to enhancing their safeguarding capabilities, creating a supportive peer network, and sharing best practices and experiences.

The participating schools currently include L'École Jeannine Manuel, The British School of Paris, the American School of Paris, Marymount and the British Section - Lycée International at Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Lennen Bilingual School

The meeting was a significant milestone, marking the beginning of a collaborative effort to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students across the region.

Alumni Spotlight: From ISP Student to Global Talent Manager

Fouad Al-Obaid, who would have graduated with the class of 2004, recently visited us from Kuwait with his two sons. Fouad attended ISP from Kindergarten through Grade 8, leaving in 2000. He later returned to Paris to study at the American University, where he earned his M.A. During his visit, he toured both the Beethoven and Ranelagh campuses, noting how everything seemed smaller now that he is an adult. Fouad's favorite memories of ISP include the Annual Olympics and International Day celebrations. Currently, he works as a talent manager in the Human Resources department at Boubyan Bank in Kuwait.

He has committed to participating in our university mentoring program and will be speaking at our careers fair next year. Fouad's journey from ISP student to accomplished professional is an inspiration to us all, and we are thrilled to have him back as an integral part of our alumni network.


ISP Celebrates a Successful Week with CIS, NEASC, and IB

Last week marked a pivotal chapter for ISP, as we welcomed a 14-member team from CIS, NEASC, and IB across our three campuses. The experience was both constructive and positive for everyone involved, including students, parents, and staff, who engaged with the visiting team through formal meetings and casual interactions.

The accreditation team comprising representatives from CIS, NEASC, and IB were deeply impressed by ISP's unwavering dedication to fostering a culture of 'care for learning'. They commended the articulate and knowledgeable students they engaged with, as well as every facet of our educational program and operational procedures.

In their verbal exit meetings with our staff, the visitors expressed feeling warmly welcomed and lauded the remarkable alignment between ISP's philosophy statements and our strategic plan, objectives, and goals. They specifically highlighted the school's transparency in its operations and its effectiveness in equipping students with the necessary skills, knowledge, and opportunities to enact meaningful change. We are grateful for their insights and look forward to building on this positive evaluation to further enhance the quality of education at ISP.

CIS/NEASC/IB Synchronized Accreditation Visit Underway

This week is a significant one for ISP, as we welcome visitors from the Council for International Schools (CIS), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and the International Baccalaureate (IB). They will be on-site to meet with staff, students, and other members of our community to evaluate how ISP fulfills its Mission, Vision, and Guiding Statements, while also meeting international standards, best practices, and delivering the IB curriculum.

This afternoon, the Educational Leadership Team and Accreditation Steering Committee, along with the school board and the PTA in attendance, hosted a reception at the Cortambert Campus to welcome our team of 14 visitors. Next week, our students, teachers/staff and parents will meet with the team of visitors to further discuss ISP's educational program, plans and strategic direction for the school. The entire ISP community eagerly anticipates the outcomes of the visit reports and is confident that our leadership teams, staff, and students will demonstrate why ISP is the leading IB school in Paris.

Celebrating School Spirit During Spirit Week

Before the school break, the vibrant atmosphere of Spirit Week enveloped the halls of the Beethoven campus, captivating students in a whirlwind of excitement and camaraderie. Spirit Week, a cherished tradition, ignited a sense of unity and enthusiasm among the students (and teachers) as they eagerly participated in themed dress-up days.

From the cozy comfort of Pyjama Day to the playful mirroring of Twin Day, each themed day provided an opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and school pride. Even teachers and staff joined in on the fun, demonstrating their support and enthusiasm for the student-led initiative.

    Data Protection Notice

    The International School of Paris, 6 rue Beethoven 75016 Paris (ISP) pays utmost attention to your personal data. ISP is collecting the hereby requested personal data for purpose of the selection processes for the job you are applying and in case of subsequent employment opportunity specifically for such job or subsequent applications for employment made by you at ISP. If you do not provide such data ISP will not be able to process your employment application and it will be rejected. ISP is the data controller. The data recipient are ISP’s departments of Human Resources (exclusive recipient of criminal records), Finance, the Pedagogical Leadership Teams and ISP’s Direction and Board of Trustees. Should you be unsuccessful with your application ISP will destroy your application form after one year of its submission. If you are successful with your application and a work contract is signed between you and ISP your application form will be held for the duration of your work contract and then archived separately for unlimited duration unless otherwise required by applicable law. By submitting your personal data and application for employment, you warrant the truthfulness and accuracy of the information you provide to ISP. On occasions, ISP will contact third parties to verify information you have provided and other facts relating to you and your application, for example references. Any false assessment or information may result in immediate rejection of your application or contract termination as the case may be. In accordance with January 6, 1978 French law, (‘Informational Rights and Freedom’) and the General Data Protection Rule (UE 2016/679 dated April 27th 2016) , you have the right to ask from ISP access to and rectification or erasure (if the data is no longer not necessary for the purpose for which it was collected), the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint to the Information Commissioners’ Office.
