Application Procedure

The decision to admit a student to the International School of Paris is based on the availability of space at the appropriate grade level, the School's ability to meet each student's needs and the student's ability to fulfill our program requirements.

New students are admitted throughout the year, provided there are places available and provided the applicants have submitted a complete admissions file together with the application fee (€ 700/child).

Please submit the documents listed below
  1. Application fee (non-refundable).
  2. The ‘Student Application Form’, completed and signed by the parent or legal guardian. Please attach one passport-sized photograph to the form.
  3. The ‘Parent Statement’, completed and signed by the parent or legal guardian.
  4. The ‘Applicant Statement’ handwritten by the applicant (Grades 2 to 12) - in English if possible and without assistance.
  5. Two full years of school transcripts or reports, covering the most recent academic year and the previous one. If your child is applying for a grade below Kindergarten but has already received school reports, please provide these.
  6. The ‘Teacher's Confidential Report', completed and signed by the applicant's current teacher (Pre-school to Grade 5), or two 'Confidential School Recommendations’ , one of them completed and signed by the Secondary School Principal/Dean of Students and the other one by Grade Head or Homeroom Teacher (Grades 6 to 12).
  7. Medical Form (both parents’ and doctor’s sections must be completed).
  8. Learning Support Form - included in the Medical Form.
  9. A photocopy of the applicant's passport.

Please note that the school transcripts and teachers’ confidential reports must be sent directly from the applicant’s current school to the Admissions Office at ISP and must be in English or French. In addition, the School may ask for work samples (Grades 1 to 5).

Please submit all applications to:

International School of Paris
 Admissions Office
6 rue Beethoven
75016 Paris, France

While we understand that it is not always possible for overseas families to arrange an admissions interview at the School, it is always preferable to do so, and mandatory for pre-school applicants who have never attended school.

The Admissions Committee meets regularly to review all applications and decisions on students’ acceptance are communicated to families by email or telephone within ten days.

Please note that if we have not received a full application within two weeks of receipt of the first application document, priority will be given to other candidates. There is no deadline for the submission of applications but we recommend that you send in your application as early as possible.

After acceptance of the applicant

A letter of acceptance will be sent to all successful candidates together with the Registration Form and Contract (Contrat d’Inscription), which should be completed and returned to the Admissions Office within two weeks. An applicant's place in the School is guaranteed only after a completed copy of this document and the requisite Registration Deposit (€1000) have been received by the Admissions Office.

Applicants with (mild) special needs

Parents or guardians of any applicant having a mild special need (either physical or academic) must submit complete reports from his/her teacher and therapist with the application.

The International School of Paris is not equipped to accommodate students with severe academic or physical handicaps.

In the case where a special need has not previously been identified, the School reserves the right to review the situation in order to assess the appropriateness of the student's presence in the School based on our capacity to address his/her needs.
