On Wednesday, April 10, during the spring break, ten students and two Model United Nations (MUN) advisors departed from Charles de Gaulle Airport to the beautiful city of Dublin, Ireland for the Saint Andrew's International Model United Nations Conference 2017.
During this research-intensive week, students participated in conferences and debates modelled on that of the real United Nations. These students proudly represented two distinct nations, Malawi and The Republic of Korea (South Korea) with its ambassadors, Hannah and Alexander.
Across the different committees, topics ranged from the question of an African nuclear-weapon-free zone treaty to that of an international tax cooperation as a way of promoting development. Through the laughter and seriousness, students were able to experience diplomatic responsibilities in the Royal Marine Hotel.
To conclude we thank our advisors for being there for us at all times and for the Saint Andrew's College of Dublin for organizing such an amazing conference week. Finally, we are proud to announce that the International School of Paris was well represented with two Best Delegate awards allocated to Jari and Jules.
ISP has taken its students to four different Model United Nations conferences around the world this year. Read Grade 11 student Zinzan's article about The Hague MUN conference in February, 2017.
