Since the start of the new academic year ISP has been welcoming university representatives from schools in the UK, the US, Canada and Singapore, to come and talk to our students about pursuing higher education.
For the third year in a row, we are able to celebrate the perfect score of 45 points. This time, two of our students are among only 146 students worldwide – 0.1% of the 150 000 Diploma candidates. We also celebrate the success of 11 other students who scored 40 points or more, the highest level we have seen at ISP. On average our students scored 34 points, 4 more than the world average, and 72% of the IB Diplomas awarded to ISP students were bilingual diplomas, more than twice the world average.
All 65 of our graduates sat the full IB Diploma, and we are delighted to announce that 62 of them, 95%, were successful in earning their IB Diploma. The worldwide pass rate is typically around 80%, and our very favourable comparison in this area is reinforced by the way that we encourage all of our students to take the IB Diploma, where many other schools only allow their best students to follow the course.
Our congratulations go to the students, to their families who supported them through the two challenging years of the IB Diploma Programme, and to all of the members of staff who worked alongside them. The students’ achievements are well-deserved, and they are now more than ready to go on to the next step of their educational journey at many outstanding schools, with the London School of Economics, Oxford, University College London, Warwick, King’s College, and SOAS all being confirmed destinations in the UK, while students going to the US and Canada will attend University of California Berkeley/Sciences Po, Columbia, Berklee College of Music, New York University, and McGill, among others. Students intending to go to Asian universities will make their applications in the new year, but they will do so knowing that they have been successful in their IB Diploma programme.

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is recognized and respected by the world’s leading universities, and evidence suggests that higher rates of DP students go on to university and higher education study than non-IB students. (IB)
